Ash's Solo Trip to Poka-Poka!

I was so lucky to grab a West Jet seat sale to Edmonton for the weekend! Thank you to Jeff and Mimi for holding down the fort! What a team!

We sure didn't get to see each other enough while she was home this summer, so it was SO GOOD to spend some time with my best friend, Robyn!!! I miss you so much!!! Presley was so lovely, but she really wished Simone had come with me!

Cooper is getting more and more adorable, especially in Presley's Dorothy shoes!

Not only did we hang out, but I got to experience a "Hafla" - Robyn's Belly Dancing performance! It was a lot of work, but they did a great job! I feel so happy that she has been able to find a new hobby with some amazing people!  Here is her Latin costume:

And the Mother/Daughter dance to "Let It Go" from Frozen! So sweet!

Presley stole the show!

And the Medieval Wench number! Super fun corset! They really ended the show with a bang!

I was INCREDIBLY thrilled to spend three days at the O'Connell residence and equally INCREDIBLY sad to leave. I am selfishly sad that my dear friend lives so far away and equally selfishly sad that our kids aren't spending every free moment together. Come on RCMP - send Dave back home!!!

"Everything happens for a reason"
My flight home being delayed allowed me to meet the man who haunts my dreams! Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Hannibal on TV, happened to be in the Edmonton airport at the same time as me!!! (You may also recognize him from such films as "Casino Royale"! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0586568/?ref_=nv_sr_1) I knew it was him as soon as I saw him, but I googled it anyway... what would a movie star be doing in Edmonton of all places? Sure enough, they were hosting a Film Festival!
I was VERY nervous to say anything (because he is famous or because of the character he plays???) and almost missed my chance, but "everything happens for a reason"! I happened to run into a gal from high school and was able to explain the situation as Mads was getting ready to leave and he just happened to walk in our direction so she was able to take the picture! I actually told him that he haunts my dreams and he said he haunts his 21-year-old daughter's dreams too! Hopefully I will be able to continue to watch "Hannibal" and not be SO afraid since I know how nice of a guy he really is! Yeah right.
