Dear Future Husband...

If Simone's "future husband" can understand her lyrics, he will be just fine!

P.S. Thanks to Carley for inspiring Simone with this song!

Birthday Season

Ready for Jessie's Birthday Party!

Great job on the coloring!

Ready for Vincent's Birthday Party!

Her coloring is getting even better!

Make a wish, Mimi! (This homemade cake made with mayonnaise - with unfortunately colored icing - was actually better the next day!)

Since our Littles' birthdays fall in the winter, we are not in the season to enjoy outdoor furniture... Jenny, Robyn and Car thought ahead with a gift certificate to be used at a time of our choosing... hello summer picnic table!!!

Thank you, friends!

We'll keep it inside for a few days to make sure it works!

Jeff was also able to procure a Big Girl Bike for our Big Girl!
She's gonna have to fight The Boy for the horn!

These two continue to get along famously... for the most part! Now that Ollie is starting to "play" with some of Simone's toys, we have a few sharing issues to work through! They both still love books and we have more than enough to keep everyone happy!

Happy Easter!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Parkinson Rec Centre!

Peek-a-boo!

These eggs are so heavy!!! Oh no wait, that's just Simone's forced smile!

Coo-coo! La famille Caldwell got some treats too!!! Vincent doesn't have to share with his baby  brother just yet... he's not due out until October!!!

Some bunny loves Easter!

The cutest and most confused bunny we have ever seen!

Brunch at the Golf Club with Grandpa!

The Easter Bunny makes an appearance and the girls couldn't be more thrilled!

Grandpa, Kathy's glasses look good on you! And they sure match your colorful shirt!

Ok, everybody outside for the egg hunt!

Even Ollie has a basket... for sharing with Mommy, right???

Gorgeous egg hunter

Ollie found all the eggs hiding in the tennis court!

Potato stamping with Mimi! Cut the potato in half, cut a design into it, paint it and voila! An Easter egg! (Mommy was planning on trying this in her class, so this was the practice run!)

So cool!

Simone is so lucky to have such great artists to inspire her!

I wonder how many cavities the Easter Bunny brought us this year... ;)

Spring Break (Week #2)

Everyone is feeling better now that Mimi is back from Mexico!
She brought some awesome gifts back for our Littles!

Gracias!

Of course now that we are healthy, the weather outside is frightful! We'll just stay in and practice wearing our fancy dresses over our clothes until the sun comes out! Or maybe we should take a trip down to Mexico ourselves...

Might as well clean the house while we're stuck inside!
Ollie is following in his Daddy's footsteps!

The antibiotics have kicked in and appetites are back. Phew! Speaking of weight, Ollie tipped the scales to 29.4lbs and Simone just beats him at 30.2lbs... with her shoes on!!! Look out, here comes a Gentle Giant!

Spring Break! (Week #1)

Our break began with antibiotics! Ollie developed a contagious bacteria called "hemophilus influenza" (nothing to do with the flu), which usually presents as ear infections... in Ollie it showed up as crusty eyes, in Mommy it was cough and congestion and in Simone it was throwing up! From Sunday morning to Wednesday morning, our little girl threw up 18 times! It was devastating to watch... we've never seen her sit still as long as she did! Laying on the couch, not moving, not talking... it was scary. The doc said if she wasn't keeping the medicine down after a couple of days, we were going to have to go to the hospital for an IV! Uh, no thanks! The alternative would be Gravol suppositories! WHAT? Also not on my holiday To Do List!!! Thank goodness Jeff remained healthy through it all and was able to do all of the running around to get us better.

Until we have teenagers, I imagine this is a once-in-a-lifetime shot for these two people!

Auntie Mick, the Sweetest, Most Generous person ever, spoiled us with an Amazing spread, including her very own spaghetti sauce with meatballs and a homemade banana bread! Thank you so much! The energy to prepare something so delicious is not usually present at our house (even when we are healthy!), so this was an especially timely gift! We are so grateful! (And SO FULL!!!)

On Friday, people were finally starting to feel better (must have been the Outstanding Dinner from the night before!), so we began our day with some Art! We set up the easel and Simone got her first (nudey!) paint lesson from Daddy!

Let's cheers our paint brushes!

These water colours are kind watery!

Before heading up for snooze, we hit up the Dress-Up Box. Princess Ollie made his, uh, her debut! Come on, it could be a pirate shirt!!!

Simone, aka Cinderella, does her chores so she can head to the ball! (Thank you again to Auntie Shilo for the gorgeous dresses!)

Ok, enough of the girly costumes, let's get Super!!! Captain America shows his muscles off as he hoists Superboy in the air!

Who, me?

Here comes Supergirl!!! Some serious muscle face here!

After snooze, we got back into Art. Simone's coloring and tracing are certainly improving! She sat for a good half hour and focused on this piece of art! Even with a distracting Little Brother running around, trying to get her attention!

Ollie tries his hand at coloring! Strapped in is always the safest bet, if we don't want to be scrubbing all of the walls and furniture down!

We are sure looking forward to a more eventful second week, as well as Mimi's return from Mexico!!!

Ballet Recital #2

The end of the second term of ballet is already here! We got to go in and watch again... what a difference from the first term! Simone's "hop squish" has improved tremendously! And Miss Barb even thinks Simone will be fine to go on stage... we'll see! :)

Here's Simone looking cheeky while Miss Barb gives us some year-end show info.

She is practicing her Very Best Listening!

Twist and twist and looking cute!

These are tondues, which are called "Hot Potatoes" in Miss Barb's terms! All I see is a sickled foot!!!

The tongue is out in full form for this pliƩ or "diamond squish". Rolling ankles, much? :)

Classic ballerina pose as our girl does her beautiful turns!

Car, don't worry... we'll work on the turnout and pointed toes for her jumps! Her smile is there though!

Ring around the rosey!

It's actually a wave as they leave the stage, but it sure looks like a "talk to the hand!" pose!!!

OMG, is this the cutest picture you have ever seen???

Or is this it???

Here is the dance they will be performing in the June Show. Good thing they have three more months to practice it!!!

A star is born, people!
