Excer-Saucing!

Simone is LOVING the Excer-Saucer! Thank you AGAIN to Jenny for this amazing toy!

She is building up the muscles in those legs! She's thinks she's about ready to stand up when she's not in there!

She loves looking at all the toys... pulling and pushing and twirling and, of course, DROOLING!

She gets very focused on her fun!

Happy Mother's Day!

All the mothers were treated to a delicious Eggs Benedict brunch at Lani and Kelly's place across the lake. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon out on their deck surrounded by lots of love!

Back at our place, Mimi treated Simone to her first bottle outside! I think we'll be spending quite a bit of time out there this summer... it was so nice and cool and quiet! Our own little green space!

We headed to Mimi's for dinner, where the two Moms were treated to amazing gifts! Jeff and Tess made these gorgeous footprint butterflies with Baby Gaga's little feet! What a special keepsake!

Simone was tired out after such a busy day of being cute! (Thanks again to Auntie Robyn for the adorable dress!)

I didn't think the day could get any better, but at 8pm, I got a call from the HR Director at the School Board office... he offered me a position at Glenmore! (This is the school I attended as a student and where I have been working for the past 2.5 years!) I will have a 1/2 split for the 2012-2013 school year, but I don't have to go back until January! That means I get the full year off with Simone! To top if all off, I am now a Band 1! That means I own a full-time, permanent primary position! I won't have to apply for positions or worry about having something to come back to after my next mat leave! What a load off!!!

All in all, it was an amazing day!!! Thanks to everyone for making my first Mother's Day so special!

Four Months Old!

Can you believe I am four months old already???
Here I am enjoying my Bumbo chair in yet another adorable outfit from Aunty Grace!

I've been hanging out with Great Avi, you know, making him laugh and stuff...

I've also discovered the teething ring!

Chomping on it really tires me out! (Looks like I found my thumb, too!)

I love snuggling up with this beautiful blanket, made by Auntie Robyn! I miss you so much, but I'm so happy to have a daily reminder of you!

While washing my face and putting lotion on one morning, Daddy got creative and decided to do my hair in the style of Ed Grimley! (You know, Martin Short's character on SCTV?)

I must say, it's not that bad!

I have spent a bit of time in front of our brand new 47" flat screen TV! Thank you so much to Grandpa Dan and Nona Jane for this amazing housewarming gift!

I do get tired watching TV though, so I just curl up on my pillow for a snooze. Looks comfy, hey? How about those leg folds! So cute!!!

In other four-month-old news, we took Simone for her immunizations and this time was a bit tougher than the two-month experience. She got a little fever and had a hard time settling down. We had to give her Tylenol for the first time! Despite being a bit fussy, that didn't stop her from sleeping through the night!!! We are so lucky!

Simone weighed in just over 14 lbs and 63.5cm (25 inches). She still loves being on her tummy has even rolled over all by herself! She is getting really good at reaching for and holding on to things... especially since she found her toes! She is getting pretty squirmy as she learns to wiggle, too! It's getting harder to get her dressed because she just wants to move around! We are seeing so many smiles and starting to hear some adorable sounds! There is something new every day!

I also don't think she noticed that she is sleeping in a new house! She is so flexible and easy-going! We have been enjoying going for our daily walks and exploring our new neighborhood! Since we are going to do some painting in her room, we have set her up in the play pen in our room for now. Jeff has some grandiose ideas of how he'd like to decorate it, so stay tuned for pictures of the finished product! (Um, don't hold your breath while you wait!)

Moving On Up!

Even though we booked over a month in advance, we still had to drive to Westbank to pick up our U-Haul. It was such a busy weekend that they didn't have time to clean it out before giving us the keys. This was a job for Mr. Jeff!

(It also needed airing out... the gal said "Somebody must have had a grow op!" She was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing!)

Steve and Kristy helped us out on Friday night - we emptied Mom's storage unit and Dad's basement. Good thing we broke it up over two days... we had to make two trips on Saturday from the apartment to the house and have the truck back to Westbank by 4:00pm!

The boys are excited to get going! Maybe they were inside the truck a little TOO long... ;)
Thank you again to Steve & Kristy (x2 days!), Mike, Bob and Dad for their muscles and Mimi for babysitting!
We are also lucky to have Auntie Tess as a roommate this summer! She decided to save some money before she goes to Australia, so she said goodbye to Vancouver and hello to Kelowna!
Dad was so kind to find her a 10-foot U-Haul truck here in town and offered to drive it to Vancouver, load her up and bring her back! Unfortunately, U-Haul made other plans and ended up booking him a 26-foot truck that he had to pick up in Osoyoos! Resourceful Dad made some calls and managed to end up with a 24-foot truck from his client at Cookson Motors!
With no bungee cords or straps, they cleverly laid all of her stuff out on the floor of the truck, which kept everything in place during the trip!
Here they are pulling in to our complex and getting turned around. (Tess is directing at the back of the truck!)

I almost couldn't fit the truck in the shot!

Our weekend was spent filling and emptying trucks, carrying boxes in and out of apartments, up and down stairs.... now the real work begins!
We are looking forward to the unpacking and getting set up... especially knowing we'll have Auntie Tess and her painting skills to help make our new space just the way we want it!
