Visit with GAGA and Uncle Ronnie

After a road trip to Montana for their grandson's wedding Grace and Ron swung by the Okanagan to meet the boy and see the much-grown Simone.
Of couse GAGA comes bearing gifts. Here Oliver tries on his new Monkey Towel!

And Simone got a nice soft mermaid beach towel. Daddy fell asleep on it.

Grace and Ron are very hands-on with the kids. Ronnie is Mister Tickle!

Grace takes a turn administering the bottle to Ollie.

A belated 80th birthday party for Uncle Ron.

Simone and Grace telling secrets under the umbrella.

A quick photo shoot before G and R have to go.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. We loved having you!

Surprise, Auntie Mick!!!

Since her birthday isn't until July 25, Auntie Mick sure wasn't expecting a birthday celebration during our mid-month, mid-week Splash Party!!!

It was SO hot, we had to dip our toesies in the FREEZING hose water-filled wading pool!
(We eventually had to move the party inside, to cool off!)

Bekah made herself nice and cozy!

Happy birthday to you!

Monie has never seen a fruit skewer sparkler before!

Snuggles with the boy!

Matching scarves!!!

We love you, Auntie Mick, and feel so happy to celebrate your special day with you!
May all your wishes come true!
xoxo

6 Months Old!

Weight: 22lbs (10kg) Mimi said, "Ok, now put the other half of him on the scale!"
(We put Simone on the scale and she weighed in at 28lbs!)
Length: 72.5 cm (28.5 inches)

Firsts for the month:

Big boy sitting up in the high chair!!!
Gawshhh he's a cutie patootie!

Not only sitting up in the chair, but also all by himself!!!
(This is Ollie's first-thing-in-the-morning face!)

Moving on from just rice cereal... bring on the fruit! Here is Ollie's first taste of apple sauce! (Turns out apples are not his favourite... he enjoys pears and bananas the most and leans forward with his mouth open to get to the spoon faster! We will continue with carrots and sweet potatoes next!)

Ollie's first tooth also came in this month! He has (SO FAR!) seemed to be in fairly good spirits about it and the drool has not stopped... I think the second one will be following very soon! This picture reminds us a lot of somebody else and her first teeth...

Here is Simone at seven months with two bottom teeth! :)

This dude is getting ready to be on the move! I am not ready!!! I sit him up in front of the nursing pillow on the floor and the second I turn to grab a diaper, he is on his tummy, trying to inch his way to Simone's chair! He gets his arms into a full push-up position and has been working on getting his knees up!

He is also getting pretty good at the J'Ollie Jumper!

My mat leave is HALF OVER, people!!! (I guess the optimist would say I still have half a year left???)

Kangaroos in Kelowna!

With Grampa Dan and Nonna Jane in town we took the opportunity to hit the Kangaroo farm in Lake Country.

Here is Monie making a new friend. Joey, did you order a pizza?

A gaggle of goslings! But none of them named Ryan...sorry Ash!

Emus like tortilla chips. Who knew? Monie does now!

Nonna Jane making friends.

This guy was beating the heat in a shady area but couldn't escape being petted a few thousand times. Monie's turn.

Here Simone is talking to the birdie just before he took 3-4 chunks out of Daddy's shirt.
Maybe she CAN speak to the animals!?

Farm and construction machinery is a favourite of Monie's. First time she gets to ride one. Good times.

Grampa Dan finds a hat and a friend.

Jeffrey and Ollie have a visitor. He didn't eat the rest of Dad's shirt and most of all didn't mess his new hat!

Turns out he likes sunglasses better.

Taking GD for a ride.

Good times! And the price is right! (By donation!)

Happy Birthday, Grampa Dan!

For Grampa Dan's birthday, he made the trip to see us! What a nice birthday present!
Nothing like homemade chocolate cake with sprinkles!

..or a spatula shaped like a guitar!
If you ever need help opening a gift, Simonie is there!
The Boy aka "Handsom" aka "Ollie" aka "Oll" is especially happy to see Grampa Dan.

2.5 Years Old!!!

Where does the time go???

Our adorable girl is growing up and her fun personality is really shining through! She LOVES to dance and knows the words to EVERY song! (Now we gotta get Great Avi to teach her to harmonize! It will sound great with "You Are My Sunshine"!)

Here she is, enjoying a FANCY cookie made by Emma for Bekah's cheese-themed birthday party. (She set the bar WAY too high!!!) We still love you, Emma. And the cookies were delish!

Mommy, Simone and Ollie went downtown to meet Grandpa for lunch one day.
Here is our girl entertaining the Ogopogo!

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Simonie!!!

The wind picked up by the time we got home...

"We have to catch the trees, Mommy!"

Twins!!!

It pays to have friends with bouncy castles!

Bekah, Vincent and Simone had an absolute BLAST bouncing together! Only a few bonks...

...and a few snuggles! (Save this one for their wedding slideshow!)

Our neighbour lent us a kite, so we took it over to North Glenmore School for a test drive!

Run, Monie, run!

My little pony! She looks so grown up! She had ANOTHER haircut this month and since we decided to keep it long, she has agreed to let Mommy put a pony in! Yay! (When I asked her what she would like to do with her hair, she said: "Maybe Laura can make it niiiiiiiice and curly!" haha! Sorry babe, you are out of luck on that one!)

"I walk the line..."
Supporting the teachers on the picket line!

And waving at ALL the cars - whether they honked or not!

Monie's Quotable Quotes for the month of June:

-"Mommy, I need to talk to you..."
-"How about we go to Machu Picchu today?" (What TV show is she watching???)
