Trip to Poka Poka!

While Mommy is on mat leave and West Jet has seat sales, we thought now would be the best time to go on my first plane ride to Alberta!

Today is Grandma Flo's birthday, so I know I will be safe
with my extra special Guardian Angel watching over me!

Since it's only an hour-long flight, I didn't even have time to charm the aircraft staff!
I snoozed the whole way!

What a perfect little traveller!

One night chez Auntie Shilo in Calgary!

Cousins Craig and Debbie, who also live in Calgary, came by to meet me!

I got to have a bath in Auntie's giant soaker tub! Lucky me!

Chauffeur #1 (Shi) drove us to Olds (one hour outside of Calgary!)...

...where Chauffeur #2 (Dave) was waiting to take us the rest of the way to Ponoka!
We are so spoiled!

We knew the town was small (note the population above!), but we had pictured WAY smaller! There are a lot of houses, just not a lot of businesses. It is super cute, though, and Robyn and Dave seem pretty settled here! It sure is a relief, but we don't want them to get TOO comfortable!!!

Pancakes and bacon! We will definitely come back to this hotel!!!
Cooper (2.5 months old!) doesn't use his high chair yet, so Simone got to break it in for him.

Presley (4.5 years old!) also demonstrated her fabulous sharing skills: I'm sure Simone put every single one of Presley's toys into her mouth! And she let Simone walk all over her!!!

Jeff has been working closely with the Edmonton branch of his office, and since Ponoka is only an hour away, he thought he should stop in to show off his latest accomplishment!
Bernadette was away that day, so Simone took over her office space!

Edmonton "Must-See" #2: Wayne!!! Jeff's trophy is better! (And lighter!)

Edmonton "Must-See" #3: West Edmonton Mall!!! Our first stop was obviously the Disney Store!

Unfortunately we missed the sea lion show, but we did see the skating rink and checked out a couple of shops. We did stop at The Olive Garden for dinner on the way home - everyone was happy!

Play date in the park! It was pretty cold, so we got our winter gear on!

Simone not having any fun at all! Check out how big those bottom teeth are getting!

Presley playing "telephone" with Dave. I think the foot up helps her get her message across!

It worked! He came right over for a fire engine ride!

Girls just wanna have fun!

On our last night in Ponoka, the amazing O'Connell Family surprised me with a birthday cake! Presley helped me blow out the candles!

The second dessert course consisted of Smores outside at the fire pit!
That was definitely on my birthday list!!!

Twins!!!

Cooper got this gift in the mail during our visit - so cute! At the rate he is growing, he'll be wearing it for real in no time!

A huge MERCI to the O'Connell Family for all of the driving and the incredible hospitality! It was so nice to finally be able to see where you are... but we still want you to come home!!!

Chauffeur #2 (Dave) had to deliver some meat to a friend (this is hunting territory!), so he drove us the full two hours back to Calgary, where we met up with Chauffeur #3 (Uncle Scott), who made sure we made it to the airport on time and got all checked in. But not before he showered us with even more gifts from him and his Generous Friend, Karen!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first trip such a success!
